| | | |  Chris Talley Armstrong is the manager and teacher for the band. She sings mostly harmony vocals and plays the bass, fiddle and guitar with the band. She has won numerous state championships on both the fiddle and banjo, and plays over 25 instruments. Chris is known for her teaching, which includes both private and group lessons, workshops, and instructional CDs and DVDs.
Chris and her husband, Earl, are the owners of The Bluegrass Shack, a music store in New Athens, Illinois. The Pickin' Chicks meet for practice every week at The Bluegrass Shack.
In addition to playing and teaching music, Chris enjoys graphic arts, web design, running, instrument repair and photography.
